Հայ գեղանկարիչ Վլադիմիր Սահակյանը ծնվել է Երևան քաղաքում 1932թ-ին: Երևանի Կոնդ թաղամասը, որտեղ ծնվել, հասակ առել ապագա նկարիչը, ասես լիներ մի բազմանդամ ընտանիք, որը բազմաշերտ աղետների ժամանակ անգամ չէր կորցնում հանուն հայությանը հստակ աշխատասեր ոգին, դառը հաց վաստակելու կամքը, լավ օրերի երազանքը, որակներ, որոնք այնքան ներդաշնակորեն զարդարում են Վ. Սահակյանի ներաշխարհը:
Վլադիմիր Սահակյանը, ինչպես ցանկացած տաղանդավոր նկարիչ, գնահատում էր անձնական ստեղծագործական ազատությունը։ Նա ազատ էր թեմաների, կերպարների, մտահաղացումների ընտրության հարցում։ Յուրաքանչյուր ստեղծագործության մեջ պարզ երևում է արվեստագետի զգացմունքն ու մտքերը:
Գեղանկարչական պլաստիկ քնարականությունը, նրբագեղ արտիստիզմը փոխանցվում են կտավից կտավ: Նրանց կապող թելը հանգեցնում է ինչպես բարձր կարգի գաղափարներ արտահայտող աշխատանքների, այնպես էլ անձնական բնույթի տեղծագործությունները՝ մեկ ընդհանուր իմաստին: Այն իմաստին, որտեղ հավատի խորհրդանիշը միշտ եղել է հայրենիք Հայաստանը, նրա պատմական ուղու հուզիչ դրաման: Քնարերգու և փիլիսոփա Վլադիմիր Սահակյանն իր ստեղծագործությամբ ապացուցել է, որ նկարչի վերջնական գոյությունը հերքվում է նրա ստեղծագործություններում պարունակվող զգացմունքների և պատկերացումների անսահմանությամբ:
Գրիգոր Խանջյանն ասել է. <<Սահակյանի ստեղծագործությունները սահմանափակումներ չունեն: Նա հավասարապես և հաջողությամբ է զբաղվում կոմպոզիցիայով, նատյուրմորտներով, որոնք ունեն խորը հոգեբանական հենք և օժտված են տարբեր հուզական երանգներով` լինի դրամատիկ կամ լիրիկ, բանաստեղծական թե հեքիաթային, նրանք բոլորն էլ նվիրված են մարդկային հոգու և նրա կյանքի տարբեր իրավիճակներում արտահայտող էությունը: Վ․Սահակյանը քաղաքացի-արվեստագետ է և միշտ արձագանքել է հասարակական երևույթներին իր ստեղծագործություններով, ուղղակի կամ այլաբանորեն, իսկ գնահատականների մեջ կտրուկ է, դիրքորոշումը՝ հստակ։
Զարմանալի է, կյանքի դժվար ճանապարհ անցած նկարիչը, որ պատանի հասակից թաթախված է եղել կեցության քաոսի մեջ, մարմնավորել է միայն լուսավորն ու երազայինը: Նկարիչը իսկական ուսուցիչ է ոչ միայն խոսքով, այլև իր ողջ ստեղծագործությաբ: Եվ պատահական չէ, որ նրա բազմաթիվ ուսանողներ և գործընկերներ ակնածանքով են խոսում ոսկեձեռք ուսուցչապետի մասին:
Vladimir Sahakyan was born in Yerevan in 1932. The Yerevan quarter of Kond, where the future artist was born and grew up, was like a large family, which, even during multi-layered disasters, did not lose the hard work inherent in Armenians, the will to earn bitter bread, dreams of good days, qualities that so harmoniously adorn V. Vladimir Sahakyan, like any talented artist, valued personal creative freedom. He was free to choose themes, images, and motifs. The creative will of the artist brought all this diversity into the expression of feelings and thoughts, the innumerability of which Sahakyan reflected in his works.
Picturesquely plastic poetry and refined artistry passed from work to work. The thread connecting them led both works of the highest category and works of a private nature to one universal meaning. The sense in which the Motherland Armenia has always been a symbol of faith, is the exciting drama of its historical path. Lyricist and philosopher Vladimir Sahakyan proved with his art that the finite existence of the artist is refuted by the infinity of feelings and insights contained in his works.
Grigor Khanjyan (the famous Armenian painter and illustrator) said: He is equally and successfully engaged in composition, still lifes that have a deep psychological basis and are endowed with various emotional shades, whether dramatic or lyrical, poetic or fabulous, all of them are dedicated to the human soul and express the essence of a person in various life situations․ V. Sahakyan is a citizen-artist and has always reacted to social phenomena with his works, directly or allegorically, and is harsh in his assessments, his position is clear․
Surprisingly, the artist, who went through a difficult life path, who was immersed in the chaos of existence from a young age, embodied only the bright and dreamy. The artist is a real teacher not only in words, but also in all his work. and it is no coincidence that many of his students and colleagues speak with reverence about the golden-armed teacher.
